Happy New Year!!!

We attended a New Year's Eve party this year with several other families. All of us had kids around the same age which made it great for the parents to visit and the kids to play. I'm sure our poor hosts had a HUGE mess to clean up the next day, but we really appreciated it.

The most exciting part, at least for my kiddos, was when we did the count down (NY time as we watched the Time's Square ball drop) and the parents popped things that shot out confetti when it hit the new year. What a wonderful memory for them.

Growing up New Year's Eve was always fun for us. My parents had a group of families that we celebrated New Year's with and I remember banging pots and pans in the street at midnight with all the other kids.

This is really the first year my kids have experienced "ringing in the New Year" even if it was a few hours early for our time zone. In year's past we've attended more "adult" parties where the fun doesn't really get going into about 11PM and nobody is celebrating yet at 9PM.

We'll have to make sure we continue this fun tradition of making the change from one year to the next a more memorable event for our kids.

Happy New Year everyone! May 2010 bring you health and happiness!!!
