Corn Maze Adventure

Brother's cub scout pack met up at the Rutledge Corn Maze.
Baby Bear found the kittens, of course.
We got a little lost in the maze.
It was very dark.
There were punch stations to find throughout the maze.
We found a bridge, but got VERY lost afterwards.
Thankfully, there were marshmellows to roast after we made it out.

MMO

First Grade presented at the MMO.
Brother's line was, "I will play with my brother."
He even said it loud and clear.
Great job, Brother!!!

Five Jack-O-Lanterns

Time to carve our jack-o-lanterns.
Brother didn't like to touch the pumpkin guts, but did use an ice cream scooper to get most of them out of his pumpkin.
The kids and I cleaning our pumpkins out. Make sure to keep the seed separate!!!
Baby Bear didn't like touching the pumpkin guts at all. He spent the entire time trying the pumpkin tops onto all the different pumpkins.
Daddy helps to carve the pumpkins. Baby Bear danced around him.
See how well the boys help out with the carving?

Brother shows off how clean the inside of his pumpkin is.
Daddy's pumpkin is a wolf.
See how cool?
Sister diligently poked holes into her pumpkin to trace her pattern.
I carved out Sister's pattern.
Camp Half-Blood and a Pegasus.
Pretty cool, eh?
My carved pumpkin. Like it?

Five little pumpkins all in a row.

Rick Riordan

Something spectacular occurred in downtown Olympia today. Rick Riordan, the author of the Percy Jackson books, came into town. Out of only seven places in the entire U.S. he came here!!! We love the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series and his new The Heroes of Olympus series (and The Kane Chronicles are okay too). So, it was determined that we had to go downtown, brave the massive crowds, and get his autograph.
Welcome to Poseidon's Fish Market (or the Port of Olympia).
There were lots of fun booths to learn about water conservation and make crafts.

They even had some fun touch tanks.

We had fun with the photo opportunities as well.

Finally, the boat, The Grand Finale, arrived with Rick Riordan on it.

 The man himself....Rick Riordan!!!
 Listening to him speak.

Can you believe how many people cam out for a book author!!!
It really warms an English teacher's heart!!!
We spent a little time reading waiting to meet him. Sister introduced Grandma and Grandpa to the Percy Jackson books while Baby Bear caught up on his Cars books. Brother just drank lots of soda and bounced around.

 Finally, the moment arrived!!!
(Sorry it's so blurry. I was trying to hurry because you weren't supposed to slow the line down for photos.)

All 5 books signed...SUCCESS!!!
We made some memories today. (=
