Seaside or Bust!

We loaded up my parents' RV and our van and headed off to Seaside, Oregon, for the last week of July. Every summer we've gone to the beach with my parents. This year we decided to bring along a tent since we've outgrown the RV.
Here we are sleeping one of the nights. Yes, there was room for me on the far left. I just couldn't get a picture of the entire space since it is a two-room tent. Plus, I didn't want to wake everyone up. (= The RV resort had a beautiful pool. It was our first stop after getting the tent set up. Sister has become a regular fish in the water. Baby Bear loves the water in short amounts.
Brother's swimming is certainly improving, though he's a reluctant swimmer since you can't "chat" with people while swimming.
Here he is showing Daddy how great he's doing now.
Time to roast some hot dogs for dinner.
Memere shares some chips and salsa with the kiddos. They swarm to food like flies to honey. (BTW, notice our cool tent in the background?)

Roasting some s'mores which is the real purpose of camping. We had s'more every night during our camping adventure.
Baby Bear can make a musical instrument out of anything. Here he is doing his impression of a marching band. Trust me, our campground neighbors loved us. (;
Momma loves s'mores too!
Sister finally has the patience to roast the perfectly browned marshmallow like Daddy. I prefer to just burn them. (= Time to play at the beach.
Baby Bear loves to drive vehicles no matter where we go.
Brother loves a deep hole.
A little kite flying. Surprisingly, there wasn't enough wind to keep them up if you stopped running.
Sister created some "sand" shoes.Aren't they cute? Unfortunately, they don't travel well.Everybody loves to dig.Headed for the waves.Baby Bear running from the waves.The big kids and Daddy running from the waves.Sandy feet!Brother loves his "claws".Baby Bear smiles at you right before he wipes his sandy hands all over your clothes.Sister models a new way to wear your sweatshirt.We all love our doggie!

We visited Fort Clatsop. It is where Lewis and Clark spent the winter.
We attended a demonstration of the weapons they used.Sister and Brother picked their beds out.Time for lunch.Here's one of the nice volunteers dressed up as a captain.Baby Bear discovered that metal dishes make lots of noise when you bang them together.Here we all are in front of the fort.Daddy, Brother, and Baby pretend they're explorers on the trail to the pier.We learned a lot in the museum.Here we are with Sacajawea and her baby. Did you notice that Baby Bear decided he was past his nap time. (=Time for more s'mores.Here the big kids and Daddy roast marshmallows as Baby Bear makes himself welcome to the chocolate bars.Papa and Baby Bear take our doggie for a walk.Back at the beach. Can you believe this hole!Here's the pipe that goes into the Seaside Aquarium.Baby Bear loved splashing in the barely wet sand.Brother went wave jumping and got soaked!We stopped to enjoy the swings on the way back to the van. A very nice lady offered to take a photo of our whole family in front of the Lewis and Clark statue. Unfortunately, she cut their heads out. It's nice to be photographed now and then, though. This wasn't the end. It's just the beginning of our beach adventure. More to come!
